The Farmer's Wife 1930s Sew Along

GnomeAngel.com

I joined The Farmer's Wife 1930s Sew Along with a few other Thimblebee members.  I started my blocks at the Fall Quilt Retreat. Below are the blocks I completed there.

This is definitely a challenge for me and I can already see my improvement.  It is great fun to see everyone else's blocks that they post in the Facebook group.  If you have ever considered doing this I encourage you to jump aboard and join us now!

2015 Fall Thimblebee Quilt Retreat

I had so much fun at the Spring Quilt Retreat you can bet your bottom dollar that I would be going to the Fall retreat.

We were placed in the main hall this time, which allowed for more Thimblebees to attend. :)

Seriously need to get busy adding to my sewing collection.  The setups these ladies have are to die for!

Everyone brought gifts that were used as door prizes.  Fun!

Planning going on for the 2016 Spring Quilt Retreat. :) Can't wait!

Spring 2015 Thimblebee Quilt Retreat

April 30-May 3, 2015

I attended my very first Quilt Retreat.  I really didn't know what to expect, but was super excited to be invited.  I loaded up my sewing machine and what I thought was a lot of projects (boy was I wrong) to sew during the retreat.  The retreat started on Thursday morning, but I didn't get there till Friday evening, after work.  Side note...this was my last day of work.  I had left my old job and was embarking on my new career the following Monday, May 4th, as a Realtor.

The retreat center is just out of city limits in Parkville.  I nice little getaway. Quiet, nothing else to do but sew!

I was so jealous of all the cool sewing tools that some of these ladies had.  I have a huge wish list now!

My lovely friends Karen and Kathy, they saved me the seat next to them since I was arriving late. :)

Show and tell time...

1st ever Kansas City Regional Quilt Festival!

There were approximately 700 quilts on display at the 2015 Festival. The Quilt Festival is brought to you by numerous quilt guilds in the Kansas City metropolitan and outlying areas with special exhibits from others.  To learn who the winners were and to bookmark for the next festival, visit their website at http://kcrqf.com/

Some of my favorite ones below!  Had a great day with my daughter. :)  (6/21/2015)
