1st ever Kansas City Regional Quilt Festival!

There were approximately 700 quilts on display at the 2015 Festival. The Quilt Festival is brought to you by numerous quilt guilds in the Kansas City metropolitan and outlying areas with special exhibits from others.  To learn who the winners were and to bookmark for the next festival, visit their website at http://kcrqf.com/

Some of my favorite ones below!  Had a great day with my daughter. :)  (6/21/2015)

Quilt Week Bound!!

So excited that at the last minute I have decided to make the trip to Des Moines, IA for AQS Quilt Week!!!!  I will drive up Friday after work, with my daughter, and go to the show on Saturday.

I was originally thinking of taking a Free Motion Quilting class Saturday but since my daughter is going to be able to go with me I will pass on the class.  With over 1600 Quilts on display there should be plenty to do!

I have never been to a Quilt Show so pretty excited to be finally be going.  I live in Kansas City, MO so from what I have heard the drive to Des Moines, IA is a pretty easy drive and only around 3.5 hours.

My daughter is 16 and a Junior in High School.  She is taking a Fashion/Sewing class this year and we were at JoAnn getting fabric and notions for her next project and I walked by this fabric and couldn't pass it up.  I see a fun quilt beading project in the future for this.
